How to import ZoomInfo data into Zoho Leads

ZoomInfo exports contact lists as CSV files from Contact Search. This template maps the export to Zoho's standard lead fields: names, job title, company, and email. ZoomInfo's Contact Search export ships one person phone column, Direct Phone, plus a Company HQ Phone; Zoho Leads have one Phone field, so the two are combined and the first available number wins. Lead Source is set to ZoomInfo and Lead Status to Not Contacted on every row. Phones are standardized and emails are lowercased before import. Zoho Leads is leaner than Zoho Contacts (no Mailing address block, no separate Mobile field, no LinkedIn field), so most ZoomInfo columns belong on the converted Contact and Account; the Columns we don't use section covers each one.

Field-by-field mapping

This is the complete column mapping from ZoomInfo to Zoho Leads. The left column is the header in your CSV export. The right column is the Zoho Leads field it should map to.

Direct Phone → Company HQ PhonePhone

Zoho Leads have one Phone field. Direct Phone and Company HQ Phone are combined into Phone, taking the first available number in that order.

"ZoomInfo"Lead SourceLead_Source

Set on every row. Change the value, or remove it, in the column mapper if your process records lead source differently.

"Not Contacted"Lead StatusLead_Status

Set on every row. This is Zoho's standard new-lead status. If your org renamed its Lead Status picklist, change the value in the column mapper to match before you run the job.

Columns we don't use

Your ZoomInfo export includes 31 columns this template doesn't map. Each one below explains why, plus the workaround if you want the data in Zoho Leads.

Salutation

Zoho Leads have a Salutation field at the API level, but Operelio's Zoho Leads schema does not expose it by default.

If you need it. Map it by hand to the Salutation field after the template loads if you want the honorific on the Lead.

Job Function, Management Level, Department

Zoho Leads have no native fields for job function, seniority, or department.

If you need it. Create custom fields on the Zoho Lead for Job Function, Management Level, and Department, then map them by hand.

Email Domain

Zoho Leads have no native field for the email domain on its own. The domain is already part of the email address.

If you need it. None needed. The domain is already part of the Email Address this template maps.

Company HQ Phone

Zoho Leads have one Phone field, which this template fills from Direct Phone, then Company HQ Phone. The HQ number is a company switchboard number anyway.

If you need it. Add a custom phone field on the Zoho Lead for the company phone, then map it by hand.

LinkedIn Contact Profile URL, LinkedIn Company Profile URL

Zoho Leads have no native LinkedIn field on the standard layout.

If you need it. Create a custom URL field on the Zoho Lead called LinkedIn, then map the contact profile column to it by hand.

Person Street, Person City, Person State, Person Zip Code, Person Country

Zoho Leads have no native address block. Address fields live on the converted Contact's Mailing fields, not on the Lead itself.

If you need it. Add custom address fields on the Zoho Lead and map them by hand, or convert the lead and put the address on the resulting Contact.

Website, Industry, SIC Code, NAICS Code, Company Employees, Company Revenue, Company Founded Year, Company Type, Stock Ticker, Company Description

These are company-level data points. Zoho Leads has Industry and Annual_Revenue at the API level, but Operelio's exposed Zoho Leads schema is the core lead field set.

If you need it. Enrich the lead in Zoho after import, or convert the lead to a Contact and Account and put these values on the Account record.

Company HQ Address, Company HQ City, Company HQ State, Company HQ Zip, Company HQ Country

Zoho Leads have no native address block, and the HQ address is company-level data anyway.

If you need it. Land the HQ address on the Zoho Account record after the lead converts.

Company Fax

Zoho Leads have no native fax field, and ZoomInfo's Company Fax column is aging and mostly empty.

If you need it. None needed. This column is safe to ignore.

Last Updated, Source

Zoho Leads have no native fields for when ZoomInfo last refreshed the record or the constant Source value. The template already sets Lead Source as a constant.

If you need it. Filter your ZoomInfo export on Last Updated before uploading, or map Last Updated by hand to a custom Lead field.

Formatting and cleanup

ZoomInfo exports rarely match the format Zoho Leads expects. Fix these before you import.

  1. 1.Lowercases and trims email addresses
  2. 2.Standardizes phone numbers to international format (+1, +44, etc.)
  3. 3.Fills the single Phone field with the first available number, checking Direct Phone, then Company HQ Phone
  4. 4.Sets Lead Source to ZoomInfo and Lead Status to Not Contacted on every row
  5. 5.Title-cases name fields, including ZoomInfo's ALL-CAPS job titles
  6. 6.Trims whitespace and removes blank rows

Or skip the manual work

Operelio runs this cleanup and mapping for you. Upload your ZoomInfo export and download a clean, import-ready file for Zoho Leads.

ZoomInfo to Zoho Leads FAQ

How do I export from ZoomInfo?

In ZoomInfo Sales, open Contact Search, apply your filters, select the records you want, and click Export to download a CSV. Upload that CSV to Operelio.

Why are these going to Zoho Leads instead of Contacts?

This template is for users treating ZoomInfo contacts as net-new leads in Zoho. Leads are the right destination for prospects you haven't qualified yet. If you want to import them as Zoho Contacts with an Account link instead, use the ZoomInfo to Zoho Contacts template, or convert them in Zoho after import using the Lead Conversion tool.

Why does the template set Lead Source and Lead Status?

A freshly sourced ZoomInfo list is a new lead from ZoomInfo, so the template sets Lead Source to ZoomInfo and Lead Status to Not Contacted on every row. Not Contacted is Zoho's standard new-lead status. If your org renamed its picklist, change the value in the column mapper before you run the job.

How does the template handle ZoomInfo's phone columns?

ZoomInfo's Contact Search export ships a Direct Phone column for the person and a Company HQ Phone for the company switchboard. Zoho Leads have one Phone field, so the template fills it with the first available number, checking Direct Phone first, then Company HQ Phone. Mobile Phone is tier-gated and is not part of this template's expected column set.

Zoho requires Last_Name and Company. What if they're blank?

ZoomInfo reliably populates both fields, but the import will reject any row with a blank Last_Name or Company. Spot-check your CSV before upload, or fill blank cells with a placeholder like Unknown and update in Zoho after import.

Will this create duplicate leads in Zoho?

Zoho uses Email as the unique-value field on leads by default, so rows with matching emails update the existing record rather than creating a duplicate. You can change the match field in Setup, Data Administration, Deduplication if your team uses a different convention.
