How to import Constant Contact data into Pipedrive
Move your Constant Contact list into Pipedrive. The template combines First Name and Last Name into Pipedrive's single Name field, matches Company Name to an organization, and maps email, phone, and job title. Constant Contact's address block, birthday, and list-membership data don't have a default Pipedrive home. The section below explains what to do with each one if you need it.
Field-by-field mapping
This is the complete column mapping from Constant Contact to Pipedrive. The left column is the header in your CSV export. The right column is the Pipedrive field it should map to.

Columns we don't use
Your Constant Contact export includes 8 columns this template doesn't map. Each one below explains why, plus the workaround if you want the data in Pipedrive.
- Address Line 1, City, State, Postal Code, Country
Pipedrive contacts don't store address fields by default. Addresses live on organizations.
If you need it. If you need the address on the contact, add custom address fields in Pipedrive and re-run this template. Otherwise let the organization address handle it.
- Birthday
Pipedrive doesn't have a built-in birthday field on contacts.
If you need it. Add a custom date field on the Pipedrive contact called Birthday, then re-run this template to map it.
- List Memberships
Constant Contact list memberships export as a comma-separated string. Pipedrive uses Filters and Labels rather than list memberships.
If you need it. After import, build Pipedrive filters matching your Constant Contact lists, or use Pipedrive labels to mark each batch.
- Email Permission Status
Constant Contact's permission column records subscription state (Implicit, Explicit, Unsubscribed). Pipedrive doesn't have a default permission-status field on contacts.
If you need it. Filter Unsubscribed rows out of the CSV before upload. For the rest, add a custom single-select field on the Pipedrive contact to track permission state.
Formatting and cleanup
Constant Contact exports rarely match the format Pipedrive expects. Fix these before you import.
- 1.Combines First Name and Last Name into Pipedrive's single Name field
- 2.Lowercases and trims email addresses
- 3.Standardizes phone numbers to international format (+1, +44, etc.)
- 4.Matches Company Name to an existing Pipedrive organization, or creates a new one
Or skip the manual work

Constant Contact to Pipedrive FAQ
How do I export contacts from Constant Contact?
In Constant Contact, go to Contacts, select the list you want, click Manage > Export, and download the CSV.
Why do you combine First Name and Last Name?
Pipedrive contacts use a single Name field. The template combines the two columns with a space so each contact record displays correctly.
How is Company Name handled?
Company names match against existing Pipedrive organizations. If no match exists, the template creates a new organization and links the contact to it.
What about unsubscribed contacts?
Filter rows where Email Permission Status is 'Unsubscribed' before upload to avoid importing contacts who've opted out.
Will this create duplicate contacts in Pipedrive?
Pipedrive's import dedupes on Name plus one of email, phone, or organization. A Constant Contact subscriber matches an existing Pipedrive contact when the name and email both align. Subscribers whose name spelling differs from the existing record create a new contact even when the email matches.
