How to import Salesforce data into Pipedrive

Move your Salesforce leads to Pipedrive. The template combines First Name and Last Name into Pipedrive's single Name field, matches Company to an organization, and maps email, phone, and title. Pipedrive uses a leaner contact model than Salesforce, so address fields and lead-specific columns don't have a Pipedrive home. The section below lists them and what to do about each one.

Field-by-field mapping

This is the complete column mapping from Salesforce to Pipedrive. The left column is the header in your CSV export. The right column is the Pipedrive field it should map to.

Pipedrive uses a single Name field, so we combine the two columns into one.

Columns we don't use

Your Salesforce export includes 8 columns this template doesn't map. Each one below explains why, plus the workaround if you want the data in Pipedrive.

Street, City, State, Zip/Postal Code, Country

Pipedrive contacts don't store address fields by default. Addresses live on organizations.

If you need it. If you need the address on the contact, add custom address fields in Pipedrive and re-run this template. Otherwise let the organization address handle it.

Website

Pipedrive contacts don't have a default website field.

If you need it. Add a custom URL field on the Pipedrive contact called Website, then re-run this template to map it.

Lead Source

Pipedrive doesn't have a contact-level lead source field. Source attribution typically lives on deals or as a custom field.

If you need it. Add Lead Source as a custom single-select field on the Pipedrive contact, then re-run this template. Or create a deal per lead and track source on the deal.

Description

Salesforce's free-text Description doesn't have a default Pipedrive contact field.

If you need it. Add Description as a custom multi-line text field on the Pipedrive contact, then re-run this template to map it.

Formatting and cleanup

Salesforce exports rarely match the format Pipedrive expects. Fix these before you import.

  1. 1.Combines First Name and Last Name into Pipedrive's single Name field
  2. 2.Lowercases and trims email addresses
  3. 3.Standardizes phone numbers to international format (+1, +44, etc.)
  4. 4.Matches Company to an existing Pipedrive organization, or creates a new one

Or skip the manual work

Operelio runs this cleanup and mapping for you. Upload your Salesforce export and download a clean, import-ready file for Pipedrive.

Salesforce to Pipedrive FAQ

How do I export Salesforce leads?

Create a Leads report with the fields you need, then click Export > CSV. You can also use Setup > Data Export.

Why does this template combine First Name and Last Name?

Pipedrive contacts use a single Name field, not separate first/last. We combine the two columns with a space so your contact records look right in Pipedrive.

How are companies handled?

Company names match against existing Pipedrive organizations. If no match exists, the template creates a new organization and links the contact to it.

Can I migrate Salesforce Contacts instead of Leads?

This template maps Salesforce Lead fields. Contacts use different field names and require a separate template.

What about address, lead source, and description?

None map to default Pipedrive contact properties. See 'Columns we don't use' below for how to handle each one.

What about Salesforce opportunities and pipeline data?

This template handles lead records only. Opportunities, accounts, and pipeline stages require separate exports and a different import process in Pipedrive.
