How to import ZoomInfo data into Monday.com

ZoomInfo exports contact lists as CSV files from Contact Search. This template maps the export onto a Monday.com contact board: First Name and Last Name are combined into Monday.com's single Name column, email maps directly, and the job title goes to the Notes column since Monday.com boards have no default title column. ZoomInfo's Contact Search export ships one person phone column, Direct Phone, plus a Company HQ Phone; Monday.com's default board has one Phone column, so the two are combined and the first available number wins. Phones are standardized and emails are lowercased before import. Monday.com boards are lean by default, so most ZoomInfo columns have no native home; the Columns we don't use section covers each one.

Field-by-field mapping

This is the complete column mapping from ZoomInfo to Monday.com. The left column is the header in your CSV export. The right column is the Monday.com field it should map to.

First Name → Last NameName*

Monday.com uses a single Name column on the item, so First Name and Last Name are combined into one with a space between them.

TransformFirst Name and Last Name combined with a space

TransformLowercased and trimmed

Direct Phone → Company HQ PhonePhone

Monday.com's default contact board has one Phone column. Direct Phone and Company HQ Phone are combined into Phone, taking the first available number in that order.

Job TitleNotes

Monday.com's default contact board has no job-title column. Job Title maps to the Notes column so the title carries over to the board item.

Required by Monday.com.

Columns we don't use

Your ZoomInfo export includes 31 columns this template doesn't map. Each one below explains why, plus the workaround if you want the data in Monday.com.

Salutation

Monday.com's default contact board has no salutation column.

If you need it. Add a Text column to your Monday.com board called Salutation, then map it by hand.

Job Function, Management Level, Department

Monday.com's default contact board has no columns for job function, seniority, or department.

If you need it. Add Status or Dropdown columns to your Monday.com board for Job Function, Management Level, and Department, then map them by hand.

Email Domain

Monday.com's default contact board has no column for the email domain on its own. The domain is already part of the email address.

If you need it. None needed. The domain is already part of the Email Address this template maps.

Company HQ Phone

Monday.com's default contact board has one Phone column, which this template fills from Direct Phone, then Company HQ Phone. The HQ number is a company switchboard number anyway.

If you need it. Add a Phone column to your Monday.com board for the company phone, then map it by hand.

LinkedIn Contact Profile URL, LinkedIn Company Profile URL

Monday.com's default contact board has no LinkedIn column.

If you need it. Add a Link column to your Monday.com board called LinkedIn, then map the contact profile column to it by hand.

Person Street, Person City, Person State, Person Zip Code, Person Country

Monday.com's default contact board has no address-block column set. Each piece needs its own column on the board.

If you need it. Add Text columns to your Monday.com board for Street, City, State, Zip Code, and Country, then map them by hand.

Website, Industry, SIC Code, NAICS Code, Company Employees, Company Revenue, Company Founded Year, Company Type, Stock Ticker, Company Description

These are company-level data points. Monday.com's default contact board has no columns for them, and they belong on a company record rather than a contact.

If you need it. Add columns to your Monday.com board if you want them on the contact, or keep a separate company board and link the two.

Company HQ Address, Company HQ City, Company HQ State, Company HQ Zip, Company HQ Country

The company HQ address is company-level data and Monday.com's default contact board has no address columns.

If you need it. Keep company addresses on a separate Monday.com company board if you need them.

Company Fax

Monday.com's default contact board has no fax column, and ZoomInfo's Company Fax column is aging and mostly empty.

If you need it. None needed. This column is safe to ignore.

Last Updated, Source

Monday.com's default contact board has no columns for when ZoomInfo last refreshed the record or the constant Source value. Source is the literal 'ZoomInfo' on every row.

If you need it. Filter your ZoomInfo export on Last Updated before uploading, or add columns to your Monday.com board and map them by hand.

Formatting and cleanup

ZoomInfo exports rarely match the format Monday.com expects. Fix these before you import.

  1. 1.Combines First Name and Last Name into Monday.com's single Name column
  2. 2.Lowercases and trims email addresses
  3. 3.Standardizes phone numbers to international format (+1, +44, etc.)
  4. 4.Fills the single Phone column with the first available number, checking Direct Phone, then Company HQ Phone
  5. 5.Maps Job Title to the Notes column since Monday.com boards have no default job-title column
  6. 6.Trims whitespace and removes blank rows

ZoomInfo to Monday.com FAQ

How do I export from ZoomInfo?

In ZoomInfo Sales, open Contact Search, apply your filters, select the records you want, and click Export to download a CSV. Upload that CSV to Operelio.

Why do you combine First Name and Last Name?

Monday.com items have a single Name column, not separate first and last name columns. The template combines the two ZoomInfo columns with a space so each item displays correctly on the board.

How does the template handle ZoomInfo's phone columns?

ZoomInfo's Contact Search export ships a Direct Phone column for the person and a Company HQ Phone for the company switchboard. Monday.com's default contact board has one Phone column, so the template fills it with the first available number, checking Direct Phone first, then Company HQ Phone. Mobile Phone is tier-gated and is not part of this template's expected column set.

How does Monday.com handle duplicates on import?

Monday.com boards don't deduplicate on import. Every row in your CSV creates a new item on the board. Run a deduplication pass on your CSV before uploading if you want to avoid duplicate items.

What about Monday.com custom columns?

If your contacts board has custom columns (e.g. Lead Source, Region, LinkedIn), they don't appear in this template's default mapping. Either add the columns to your board first and re-run the template to map them, or use Monday.com's Batch Actions to fill them on the imported items.

Where do I import the CSV into Monday.com?

Open your contacts board, click the + at the top-right, choose Import from spreadsheet, and upload the file Operelio produces. The import wizard matches the column headers to your board columns.
